This article could be considered a stepping-stone for those who may be unfamiliar in the realm of archiving and all its complexities, and while Owens doesn’t delve too deeply into how to create one he does a great job at explaining exactly what archives are. Since an archive is a broad term used in a variety of settings Owens helps guide the reader into the different kinds of archive and what the difference is between them and how each of them is best utilized.
